In the case of the new tesa® 4965 Original Next Gen tape we conducted various tests to compare its properties and performance to those of the previous tape version.

Through implementing the biomass balance approach and applying a 90% PCR PET backing on the tape, this adhesive solution was made with a 40% reduction in CO2 emissions1. Furthermore, the tesa® 4965 Original Next Gen tape performs equally effectively within measured parameters as the tape with fossil-based adhesive components and PET backing. With tests reflecting this level of performance, customers can be sure that the new solution is suitable for the same production processes, providing the same quality and value – with a 40%1 reduction of CO2 generated in the value chain.

Biomass balance approach to CO2 emission reduction

We adopted the biomass approach to replace fossil feedstock with biologically derived feedstocks. This meant a reduction in CO₂ emissions without any changes to the production process, and the same reliable performance.
